Strapping young politicos, be advised—Maryland Democratic senator Ben Cardin's office has an opening.
Cardin's office on Saturday announced the firing of Aidan Maese-Czeropski, the legislative aide swept up in a gay sex tape scandal. Maese-Czeropski maintained a once-public Twitter account that featured pornographic photos and videos of himself—in one video, Maese-Czeropski appeared to engage in sodomy in a Senate hearing room. The Daily Caller posted that video Friday.
"Aidan Maese-Czeropski is no longer employed by the U.S. Senate," Cardin's office said in a statement. "We will have no further comment on this personnel matter."
In addition to his apparent Senate hearing room shenanigans, Maese-Czeropski also found himself at the center of an anti-Semitism scandal. Ohio Republican congressman Max Miller, who is Jewish, on Friday identified Maese-Czeropski as the congressional staffer who earlier in the week confronted him in the halls of the Capitol complex to say, "Free Palestine." It's unclear if sodomy would be tolerated even in a "free Palestine."
"We're just having a casual conversation, and out of nowhere, this guy beelines up to me visibly shaking—he's very upset in my presence because he's a snowflake," Miller told the Washington Free Beacon in a Wednesday interview. "And he just comes right back up to me and was like, ‘Free Palestine.’ And I was like, ‘Okay.’ … I'm not going to give him a reaction because that's what he wants."
Maese-Czeropski in a Friday night LinkedIn post alluded to his lewd behavior, saying some of his "actions in the past have shown poor judgment." The former Cardin staffer in the post denied confronting Miller.
"I love my job and would never disrespect my workplace," he said.
